Australia will train Ecuadorian about sustainable mining
Mining national company (Enami) of Ecuador reported yesterday in a statement that several technicians of that entity will form part of a training plan to be carried out at the University of Queensland, Australia, in order to develop sustainable mining in the country.
“The goal of the program is to transfer capabilities and experiences of Australian universities and other public agencies of the country, with the purpose of strengthening bilateral relations aimed at the sustainable development of mining in Ecuador,” says the document, adding that when the program is finished the Enami technicians, should “develop an action plan related to the line of business” of the Ecuadorian mining company.
The National Assembly approved last June, a reform on the mining law, which establishes tax measures, that regulates the types of mining existing in the country and fixes environmental controls to this activity.
