Absentees prevail in Prosecutor’s appeals in case Odebrecht Ecuador

“The legal reasons for this complaint do not see them sustainable. What has more sustenance is a political aspect about which I will not speak. Coincide, there is a political actor, there is an electoral process.” So said yesterday the former General Galo Chiriboga to the call made by the Prosecutor to render a version of the previous investigation into the crime of organized crime, related to Odebrecht, denounced, on March 5, by César Montúfar.

On the Odebrecht case, Chiriboga said that he did everything he should have done.

The former attorney Diego García and the former Comptroller Carlos Pólit, a fugitive in the United States, did not attend. On Monday Rafael Correa, Jorge Glas and Carlos Baca were missing. Montúfar delivered a letter in the Office of the Prosecutor so that if the version is not given for the second time, the public force will be used. (I)
