An Ecuadorian designed the art of the 19th Latin Grammy Awards

Posted On 17 Oct 2018

Ecuadornews:

The Latin Recording Academy announced that the Ecuadorian Paula Barragán will be the artist, illustrator and official designer of the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.

The work of Barragán will be in posters, books, programs, tickets and other graphic material related to the award ceremony on November 19 in Las Vegas.

The official poster was released on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. “Paula has a captivating vision, which interprets in a creative and impressive way the cultural feeling of Ibero-America,” said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., president of the Latin Academy of the Recording in a press release.

“For me, music is as essential in life as blood,” said Barragán. “I have lived surrounded by musicians and dancers of their vibrations, choreography and creative follies.” Creating the art for the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards was as if the power of the music within me had been waiting to come out.

Barragán, artist and graphic designer, studied at the Pratt Institute in New York. Now she has a workshop in Quito where she creates logos, posters, illustrations, art books, covers, carpets and other objects. She has specialized in several branches such as painting, engraving and drawing and has won several awards. (I)
