Ecuadornews:

The Ministry of Industries and Productivity and the company NI: Ec S.A. Yesterday signed an agreement so that small and medium-sized companies and those of Popular and Solidarity Economy can access technological tools that help them improve their presence in the market. Thus, after this agreement, those who adhere may have a website with PUNTO EC domain, two email accounts, and design and payment button to market five products.

This was one of the key points during the celebration of the International Day of MSMEs and the Meeting “A look at development”.

In the event participated with a sample small and medium companies, among which are footwear, road signs, cosmetics based on honey and cocoa, among others.

Marco Carrión, president of the Chamber of Small and Medium Industry, stressed that MSMEs represent 95% of the business fabric and that, despite economic difficulties, generate an important productive chain.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Industries, Eva García, explained that there are 934,000 MSMEs in the country, of which 830,000 are microenterprises and generate $ 63,640 million of income.

María Soledad Castañeda, from Procredit, said that the main challenge for these companies is to remain competent in a market focused on innovation and digitalization. They must also achieve efficiency in their operating costs, she said. (I)
