Alberto Acosta, leader of the Montecristi Lives Movement

The president of the Montecristi Constituent Assembly and current leader of the Montecristi Lives Movement, Alberto Acosta, was elected presidential candidate for the Left Movements Unity, with 55.7% of support.

Acosta gave a speech in which he criticized President Rafael Correa and his government.

“We don’t have to be afraid of the Dictator’s apprentice”, said Acosta during his speech.

He also announced that in case he gets the Presidency, he is going to order an audit of the oil and mining contracts, and said that the oil from the Yasuni National Park is not going to be exploded. (MZ)
