Damascus assailed by car bombs

According to Syrian opposition groups, this Monday a car bomb exploded in the southeast of Damascus, killing four people including a child.

The blast occurred in Jaramana, a mixed neighborhood of Christian and Druze residents. The Syrian government blamed the rebels for last weeks attacks, meanwhile opposition groups and rebels stated that the government had set up the blast to intimidate the minority groups in the neighborhood.

Coronel Aref Hammound, spokesman for the Free Syrian Army (FSA), assured that the group was not responsible in any way for the explosion. “This regime is in its last days and they carried out this explosion to stir up sectarian anger and sectarian war.” AV
