Alianza Pais will discuss the controversial media lynching

Gina Godoy
Gina Godoy (AP), current president of the Justice Commission of the Assembly announced last Wednesday that the analysis of the media lynching as a criminal offense will be studied by the bureau of Alianza Pais (AP). Then it will be discussed in the Justice Committee, which debates the new Integral Penal Code.
According to Godoy it is possible that the Comprehensive Criminal Code includes this figure, but under other conditions: “it can be hosted as a professional malpractice.”
For regime leader, Rafael Correa, the media lynching “is a crime that does not refers to simple action like perjury, but if a newspaper accuses me I’m in distress.”
The president explained that the titles of the employments were a clear reflection of what the (corrupt) press does: “Sandra: Xerox Minister”, “The Republic of carbon paper”, “The school bag heist “, which he used as an example to make his point.
