Alternative to amendment of Labor Code was given by workers to the CC
The mobilization of union leaders arrived yesterday to the Constitutional Court (CC) to deliver an alternative to the proposed constitutional amendment of the draft Labour Code, submitted by the National Assembly on June 26.
Once their leaders arrived, they went to the Constitutional Court, where they made a demonstration and met with the magistrates, including the Vice President of the Court Wendy Molina.
“We want they pronunciate in the sense the Constitution says. We are not here to force anything, but if it is an amendment, demonstrate us it is that way, but we are convinced that it is about a reform,” said Edgar Sarango, President of the United Workers Front.
Workers are opposed to the amendment of sections 229 and 326 of the Constitution, which state that workers governed by the Labour Code pass to the Public Service Law.
