Noboa, nominated as a presidential candidate in Ecuador by the Social Justice movement, in a letter addressed to Moreno indicates that on January 6, 2021, the Committee demanded this decision from Ecuador, which was formally notified by the UN through the corresponding diplomatic channels. .
“I would like to emphasize that Ecuador is a state party to the United Nations that ratified, since March 6, 1969, both the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Optional Protocol to said convention, which allows the Human Rights Committee to know of individual cases against Ecuador for violation of human rights. Noboa insists that Ecuador is internationally bound to comply with the measures dictated by the UN Human Rights Committee.
He says that in contempt of this measure, the ballot papers are being printed without the inclusion of his name as a presidential candidate.
