Alvaro Noboa’s candidacy was approve by the CNE

Last night, the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) approved the first political binomial for the 2013 elections, conformed by Alvaro Noboa and his wife, Annabella Azin, for the National Action Institutional Renewal Party (PRIAN).
The second party which obtained the approval of the electoral body was Alianza País, lead by current President Rafael Correa and his political binomial, Jorge Glass.
CNE officials announced that today they will continue with the qualifying process of parties as Ruptura (Norman Wray- Angela Mendoza) and the Left Plurinational Coordinator (Alberto Acosta-Marcia Caicedo).
The verification process of the nominations, which began yesterday, could take at least three weeks.
