Andean tourism is connected to experiences

Ecuadornews:
The focus of nature tourism is gaining ground in some areas that seek to bring their cultures and traditions closer to visitors. In fact, more than tourists, what people want is to get to experience.
The idea is precisely defined by Tania Sarmiento, head of the Municipal Tourism Foundation for Cuenca (FMTC): “We need no more tourists, but explorers. Let the visitor not only take the photo but also get him to that enriching experience of sharing with other cultures, to connect with Mother Earth.
The program is already being explored in some communities. One of them is the Totorillas estate, of the parish Tarqui, only 20 minutes from Cuenca. The ‘Full Moon Ride,’ a journey of approximately one hour and at the cost of $ 75 per person, which includes transportation to the hacienda and food in the warmth of a cozy country house is offered there.
