Andres Paez, Assemblyman of Pichincha of the CREO political movement, said in an interview with Diario Expreso that the government aims to give an image of justice with this right, but what they “do now, tomorrow will be applied to them.”

There is no one exempt from it. The problem is that Gutierrez will not be judged by independent judges.

He ensures that the government is obliged to provide that right because it is enshrined in the Constitution, in Section 11, paragraph 9. “I think that the government seeks to project an image of justice, but what they do now, tomorrow will be applied to them. They must be cautious. This right is not only for Lucio Gutierrez or his assemblymen,” Paez said.
