Annabella Azin: “Thank You Correa, Now it’s the Turn of Prian”
Doctor in medicine, from Guayaquil, married for 25-years with the businessman and presidential candidate Alvaro Noboa. She has been an active politician for the past 15 years, while at the same time she’s carrying on several social campaigns, especially in health, through the Crusade for a New Humanity Foundation. Like in 2009, the duo Noboa-Azin once again works together as the Prian presidential candidates for the elections on February of 2013.

Dra. Annabella Noboa Azín
Are you repeating the formula with Alvaro Noboa. Why do you consider that on this occasion you are going to win the elections?
– Because this are other times, because despite that the economist Correa has done with social labour and its ‘good’ infrastructure, there are problems that still hasn’t been solved, for example there’s the high cost of life, unemployment, crime; another example is the closing of our country to fresh capital that could get Ecuador forward. That is still waiting to be solved and now it’s the turn of Prian. The Economist Correa has had six years to give the country what he has given. Thank you! Now the times change, it’s another era.
But Correa has offered a 50 dollar bonus and that could be a decisive point in the elections.
– There is no bonus that satisfies anybody as long as the high cost that life has continues as well as the basic services, which are unattainable. If the economy does not improve and as long as there is unemployment, it will not work even if the bonus continues to be increased.
Does the opposition is divided with so many candidates and presidential duos?
– I think we take the votes from Correa. Is good that there are so many candidates; first because there is democracy, the different parties have the right to expose their ideas and work plans. It has been tried to coincide with some of them, but so far no definitions have been made, hence we decided to go on our own, although we are still in talks with many organizations to see if we go together with the assemblymen lists.
Your husband, Alvaro Noboa has said that he will maintain the social conquests of the current Government. What are those works that are being recognized?
– I think the universal health must continue to be improved in a responsible way, this means not focusing only in equipments, but also increase the number of nurses and deliver medicines to all the country. Regarding the people with special needs, we will continue the work of Doctor Lenin Moreno that has been praised on a national and international level. We are thinking to expand the work he has done and start programs of rehabilitation to people with several types of special needs, so they can be reinserted in a productive activity. The Human Development Bonus will be continued to be given just like the current president of Ecuador is doing it. In housing we will call the foreign investment so that they apply beneficial projects.
