Argentina is resisting a new devaluation of the peso
Posted On 25 Jan 2014
After suffering a depreciation last Wednesday and Friday, the Government of this country is trying to maintain the price of the official dollar at no more than eight pesos, and the black dollar from 13 to 11.70.
To stop inflation, the Central Bank was forced to sell currency in less than 48 hours. On Thursday it sold $ 100 million and on Friday $160 million.
The positive thing is that through the sale of dollars, individuals could buy dollars from Monday. However, the Central Bank now has 29.063 billion dollars in reserves, a level that was not recorded in the last seven years.
