Heavy rains continue lashing Guayaquil
In the past week, Guayaquil’s weather has been the same: rains that begin at midnight until noon, sunny afternoon, and sky cloudy at times; a typical scenario of the winter season.
Augusto Cazorla, of the National Institute of meteorology and hydrology (Inamh for its Spanish acronym), announced that from today until next Tuesday it is expected that rains ” “increase at the continental level, above all in its central and South America, which corresponds to the Ecuadorian territory”.
“At the end of January, precipitation increase both in intensity and frequency”, added.
The strong storm has affected different avenues, business premises and homes throughout the city. Similarly, the rains have influenced the operations of the local airport José Joaquín de Olmedo, forcing dozens of flight diversion and delay their arrivals and departures.
