Assembly Commission raided presidential veto

The Commission on Collective Rights of the Assembly approved the report on the objection to the draft Law of the National Councils for Equality with 6 votes of the Assembly members.

The members of the Commission welcomed the modification of President Rafael Correa to the Tenth Transitional Provision of the draft.

However, they do not welcome the change of the text of this transitional provision, therefore, they suggest staying in the approved text which states that the cantons where cantonal councils for children and adolescents have been created, will become cantonal councils for rights protection, and shall fulfill the functions set out in Article 598 of the Code of Territorial Organization, Autonomy and Decentralization.
