Atrocious crime in Milagro shocked citizenship

Concern among citizens of Milagro and indignation of relatives and authorities has caused the murder of Elina González, her husband, Luis Alberto Mora Pilay, 56, and her younger brother, Silvio Gonzalez Martinez, 25.

Before being murdered by criminals at her residence, Elina Katherine Gonzalez Martinez, 35, protected the lives of her two young children, of 8 and 4 years old. She hid them in a bedroom under the sheets.

The killings occurred on Friday night in a house located in the neighborhood called 17 de Septiembre, southeast of Milagro, at 10:00 pm, when the family was preparing to go to bed. The murderers knocked on the door and when they opened, the anti-socials entered shooting, leaving seriously injured the couple’s oldest daughter, who is 13 years old.

The Mora González family owned the famous retaurant “Don Lucho”.

The cohabitant of Silvio Gonzalez, the other survivor of the massacre, was also inside the house. Her identity was not released because it will be protected as she became a protected witness. The woman managed to hide in the clothes. Counting her, there are four survivors, from a total of seven people living in the property.

Personnel from the Criminalistics Department arrived to Milagro from Guayaquil to start collecting evidence at the crime scene in order to proceed with the proper investigation.
