Bamboo houses to reduce deforestation
Posted On 15 May 2015
In some provinces in the country and the European Union a project of manufactured houses is being developed, by using only bamboo, which is adaptable to climate change. The “adapting to climate change” project is carried out with bamboo from the Ecuadorian Coast and northern Peru.
Bamboo is a plant originating in India, also known as Guayaquil, which prevents deforestation by replacing wood for housing construction, it regulates water flows, it is a forage source and helps to reduce greenhouse gases emissions, the conexioncop.com website outlines.
The web site mentions that over 5000 people have benefited and have learned to use this native forest resource of both regions to build their houses.
