Bashar al-Assad Acknowledges Struggle in Syria Civil War

This Wednesday the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stated through a broadcast that his regime needs more time to win the civil war. Al-Assad made gave his statements through the pro-regime private TV station Dunya were he recognized that his army is struggling to defeat the rebel threat.
The President of Syria also took the time to address the significant number of defections from his regime. “Defections are a mechanism of self-cleansing of the nation,” said al-Assad, with a smile he added, “If there is a Syrian citizen who knows of someone who wishes to flee but is hesitant to do so he should encourage him.”
The leader of the hostile country tried to blame the difficulties in defeating the rebels based on the premise that foreign forces are fueling the rebellion. In the past few months the Syrian regime forces have been fighting the rebellion in a string of other cities and towns around the country. AV
