Beckham will have a football team in Miami
Former England soccer player David Beckham exercised his option to buy an MLS team in Miami. Don Garber, MLS commissioner this Wednesday in a press conference in the presence of Beckham and Miami Mayor Carlos Gimenez, announced this.
When funding is obtained and terrain to build a stadium, the deal will be completed between the two parties, Garber said.
Beckham analyzes possible locations for the stadium and search for investors to spread initial costs, such as construction of the property and the purchase of players.
Recently, the former player had talks with LeBron James, the Miami Heat star and friend of Beckham about the possibility of having a football team in town. LeBron is among those who could be involved in the project.
“We want to bring some of the best players to Miami. Fortunately for my career, there is already interest from some players, “Beckham said.
