The Cannes Film Festival has found a potential star in the Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts, who has won critical acclaim and many sighs for his portrayal of a tough guy in the French drama “Rust and Bone“.
Schoenaerts is not new in the seventh art, since it has appeared in over 20 films including “Bullhead,” nominated for best foreign language film at the Academy Awards in Hollywood earlier this year.
However, the media and critics at Cannes, the press screening on Thursday of “Rust and Bone” (“De Rouille et d’Os”) was the first visualization of the imposing physique of the 34 year-old actor.
Within minutes of completing the film, the actor was consulted about his perspective in Hollywood. (ARL)
