Bids for TC and Gama is below their capital assets

Bids to acquire the channels seized by the state, TC My Channel and Gamatv, are below their capital assets, acknowledged yesterday President Rafael Correa.

“We have received offers for the television channels, but lower than the total of their capital assets. A business is not worth what it’s assets are worth, _, it´s usually worth more as an ongoing business, but the minimum profit is to recover the assets. So we have offers below the capital assets and we will not accept that,” Correa said yesterday in a conversation with foreign journalists, in Carondelet.

Regarding the sale of Banco del Pacifico there are already some assessments, although its negotiation is “something confidential,” he said.

Something similar happens with Flota Petrolera Ecuatoriana and the TAME airline, whose negotiations are advancing the processes of “either private capital opening, strategic alliances, or selling to the private sector,” he added.
