Big companies foresee a wage increase of 5%
Posted On 29 Dec 2014
The increase of the minimum wage that is expected today to be decreed by the Government will have repercussions in the average payment of the employees. 78% of businessmen in the country believe that the average increase in salaries in Ecuador will be at around 5.01%.
This is indicated by the results of a recent survey by the consulting firm Deloitte, conducted at 360 companies operating in the services, commercial and industrial sectors.
Roberto Estrada, a partner of the firm, explains that the prediction is not calculated by only taking into account the increase the minimum wage will have, but is also motivated to fulfill what the current government promotes “… to offset the cut in profits and improve workers’ wages,” he said.
