Bomb threat in the first section of the Carlos Julio Arosemena Avenue

During approximately one hour the first section of the Carlos Julio Arosemena Avenue (northern Guayaquil, kilometer 1.5) was closed Thursday, after a bomb threat was reported.
Members of the National Police rushed to the scene to check the device and finally the theory of an explosive was discarded.
While the operation lasted, the Municipal Transit Authority (ATM) closed the avenue in both directions, causing a traffic congestion.
The ATM reported in a release that because of the traffic suspension in that road, “four units of the Metrovia on their way to downtown were immobilized for about an hour until the Civil Traffic Police reestablished the service.”
