Bond Beneficiaries are increasing and so is poverty
The current government run by Rafael Correa, continually boasts of having achieved the “decline” of poverty in Ecuador.
However, according to the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion, the number of beneficiaries of the Human Development Bond (BDH for its Spanish acronym), has grown by 61%.
This means that poverty has also increased since more people, exactly 1’902,499 beneficiaries until the end of 2012, needs the bond to survive.

It should be noted that the Ministry recorded 1’182,103 beneficiaries of the BDH under the previous regime, ie, in this government 720,396 beneficiaries have joined.
The opposition strongly criticizes the alleged “success” of the Government, for example, for presidential candidate, Guillermo Lasso, the solution for poverty reduction is not the delivery of bonds because such “formula” only works if there are public resources that can finance the subsidy.
