Boxer “Ghost” Gonzalez dies from brain injuries

The Mexican boxer Oscar Gonzalez, died Monday from injuries received last Saturday during a match he disputed, said his promotion firm.
For lesions in the brainstem he received when he disputed a match with Jesus Galicia for the national championship bantamweight, “Ghost” Gonzalez, of 33 years, was in intensive care at a hospital in Mexico City.
Boxer’s body will be transferred in the coming hours to Tepic, in the northwestern state of Nayarit, from where he came from, by decision of his wife and parents, said the promoter.
Gonzalez was injured in the assault tenth of the fight against Jesus Zurdo Galicia. He had a mark of 23 wins and three lost with fourteen knockouts.
