Bus fares rise is suspended until a set date

Under the provision of the Transit Commission of Ecuador (CTE) and the Municipality of Duran, the buses that make their way from Guayaquil to Duran and vice versa, will not increase the value of their tariffs to $ 0.45, as it has yet to be determined the date for the new resolution to take effect, although the increase has been approved for some transport cooperatives, according to Carlos Miñán, transit director of Duran.

“The wages rose, the cost of tires and other inputs are higher,” said Elvis Chuchuca, leader of the cooperative Panorama, with regard to the justification for the increase in fares, since prices have not increased in years, even though there are complaints from users who indicate that $ 0.45 is not within their budget.
