Calle 13 joins campaign against Chevron
The Puerto Rican duo `Calle 13´ began this Friday a series of activities and presentations in Ecuador, one of them in support of a campaign to denounce the pollution of Chevron in Lago Agrio.
The artists are scheduled to travel to the Aguarico 4 well, where there is a pool of alleged toxic waste from oil exploitation that Chevron would have left more than 30 years ago and for which received a sentence of $9,500 million dollars.
On Saturday, René Pérez (`Residente´) and Eduardo Cabra (`Visitante´), will be in the town of Lago Agrio to meet with people affected by the oil activities of Chevron and in the evening, in the same place, they will offer a free concert.
Residente wrote on his Twitter account: `Ecuador: See you on Saturday 3 in Lago Agrio to toast for the Resistance´, name of one of the songs of their most recent album, `MultiViral´.
