Campaign Chief of Capriles is killed
Juan Aranda, head of campaign in the Tachira State of the current presidential candidate, Henrique Capriles, was killed on tuesday morning, after been kidnapped by two individuals who were impersonating police officers.
“Past 11 o’clock on Monday, two people in a motorcycle went looking for him at his home, and took him away; hours later he appeared dead with multiple shots in the Palotal sector” of the same jurisdiction, told relatives, who prefer not to be identified for fear of reprisals.
Before being killed, 52-year-old Aranda, joined on Monday afternoon on a walk, along with his command comrades.
During their walk they encountered members of the ruling party, who also were campaigning.
Relatives expressed, that apart from people supporting both candidates, there was no problem, so it seemed odd that later two policemen went looking for him for supposedly assaulting a chavista.
Because of this, Capriles supporters and members of the Simon Bolivar de Ureña command have pronounced to demand justice. Alejandro García, Councillor and coordinator of the Simón Bolívar command, said that in his view this is an act of political retaliation.
