Campaña Presented in Court a Copy of the Hard Drive

Comments of president Correa on Chucky Seven evidence

Joffre Campaña, the legal representative of El Universo newspaper, presented himself today to the district attorney of Guayas, Antonio Gagliardo, to testity his version on the accusation he filed against temporary judge Juan Paredes.

Last week Gagliardo began the investigation against the judge based on accusations made to Paredes. El Universo representative pointed out that the sentence was made on a short time, which occurred after the end of the hearing.

Yesterday Campaña sent the D.A. a copy of the analysis made on the hard drive used in the computer of courthouse 15^th of Guayas wich was used to type the sentence. Campaña also requested to seize that computer in order to investigate its content to determine if the file was made with the computer, as Paredes assures.

The file was created by a user identified as “Chucky Seven” which corresponds to an unlicensed Windows operative system that is not used in computers of the Judicial Offices of Guayas. Finally the representative of El Universo requested that all the computers in the home and office of judge Juan Paredes are to be seized. (AV)
