For the first time, the Campus Party will be completely digital in 2020. María Elena Espinosa , director of Campus Party Latin America , explains that the technology festival will be held in 31 countries around the world on July 9, 10 and 11.
Espinosa highlights that this is the largest innovation and technology event in digital format of this 2020. It consists of 72 uninterrupted hours of activities. There will be conferences , workshops , hackathons , interviews and interaction with millions of participants. It will have 150 live streams and more than three thousand speakers from 120 nationalities through YouTube . There will also be 100 simultaneous live transmissions.
The event is completely free. You just have to register on the website .
The festival is distributed in five different thematic stages : employment and economy ; clean energy and environment ; health and science ; digital entertainment ; and education , smart cities and GovTech .
Espinosa says that there will be exhibitors such as Al Gore , former vice president of the United States and an environmentalist; Tim Berners Lee , pioneer of Internet development and hacker Edward Snowden . Espinosa says that the participation of these characters responds to the fact that they are longtime campusers agree with the objective of Campus Party : to restart the world in a time of new normality, in which technology becomes a fundamental tool to live in better conditions .
Campus Party began in 1997 in Spain and there have been face-to-face versions since then in different parts of the world. In Ecuador there were five editions as of 2011.
The event will also raise financial resources for the international organization Médicos Sin Fronteras and its covid-19 fund . The central theme will take place next Friday, July 10 at 10:00 hours in Ecuador . It will bring together Al Gore and internet pioneers Tim Berners Lee and Vint Cerf to analyze the evolution of the network and the future it will have with innovations such as 5G.
