Posted On 11 May 2011
The Cannes Film Festival starts tonight with “Midnight in Paris” directed by Woody Allen. This year, the actor Robert De Niro is the head of the jury.
“I wanted to show (Paris) through my eyes, through emotions, not in an objective way, something real,” Allen said in a press conference. “It’s a subjective view, not objective” of Paris, remarked Allen.Among the cast crew are Owen Wilson, who plays a Hollywood screenwriter who aspires to write a novel and live in Paris, and Adam Brody who plays Spanish artist Salvador Dali.
“Midnight in Paris” is a romantic comedy that takes the viewer not only to some of the most emblematic and beautiful places of today’s Paris, but also some of the 20’s places and the Belle Epoque.
