Carles Puyol will miss The European Championship due to injury

The Spanish player, Carles Puyol will have six weeks to undergo arthroscopic surgery after having discomfort in his right knee.

He is not allowed to play in the final match of the ‘Copa del Rey‘, this May 25 against Athletic Bilbao, and probably also miss the UEFA Euro 2012.

The Barça’s captain,, began with discomfort in his right knee after the game against Espanyol on Saturday, where Barça thrashed 4-0.

“After the diagnostic tests, they decided to make an arthroscopy on Saturday May 12,” explained the club’s medical services in a note. (BG)
