ETA Could no Longer be an Armed Group
Posted On 08 May 2012
General manager of Lokarri, Paul Rios, pointed out that it has been arranged that ETA stop using violence. Their next objective will be that it stops being “an armed groups” and starts a disarming process.
This process has a two-year period and it is expected that in a generation or two there is a full reconciliation. During an interview by Europe Press, Rios stated, “the conditions are been given so that peace may be achieved.”
However some issues have delayed the process, specifically the request of ETA that seeks to benefit their jailed members. Now the inmates are asking for guarantees before they can make the decision of disarming the Basque terrorist group. (AV)
