Carlos Slim Tops the Forbes Billionaire List
The new Forbes list has been published and it reveals the names of the billionaires with assets superior to $ 1,000 billion.
There are 1,210 billionaires in the world, and they come from 54 countries, 100 of these are Chinese and Russian tycoons, in fact, 79 of the more than $ 1,000 million fortunes are in Moscow, the Russian capital.
In Russia, there are 101 billionaires, Vladimir Slin is the richest man in the country, he managed to get in the number 14 of the list that is annually published by Forbes magazine, with a $ 24,000 million fortune.
But wealth is not only in Europe, “wealth is booming in Latin America,” Steve Forbes said, editor of the magazine. In fact 52 of the billionaires are Latinos–in 2010 there were only 18 Latinamerican billionaires–, 30 of them come from Brazil, and Mexico’s Carlos Slim tops the list for the second consecutive year thanks to the $ 74,000 million fortune he has accumulated in his telecommunications empire.
Brazilian entrepreneur Eike Batista, follows Slim with a fortune of $ 31,000 million. The president of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, is another latino in the list, he is in position 488 with his $ 2,400 million.
Business on the web is also gold, giving six of the founders of Facebook a place in the list of the richest in the world. Mark Zuckerberg ended up in place 52 with a fortune of $ 13,500 million while the founders of the giant Google, Sergey Brin and Larry Page managed to get position 24.
