Carrasco requests support for the new Labor Code

The Minister of Labour Relations, Carlos Marx Carrasco, in order to initiate the legislative process of his proposal for the Organic Labour Code, yesterday delivered it to the President of the Assembly, Gabriela Rivadeneira.
The delivery of the project was carried out in the presence of militants from Alianza PAIS, Ministers of State and President Rafael Correa. Carrasco requested the President of the Assembly to conduct `a serious, deep and democratic debate´ on the new project.
The text consists of 25 points, announced one year ago, in which it is stated the monthly payments of the 13th and 14th salaries, modifications on the payment of retirees, the creation of a single labor union, among others.
The text was also given to union leaders, whom Carrasco asked to support the new Code and anticipated that the oligarchy will oppose to it because it favors, according to him, to the workers, it guarantees decent wages and new conquests.
