Cesar Carrion’s Wife Began a Hunger Strike
Posted On 28 Apr 2011
Janeth Orbe, wife of former hospital director of police, César Carrión, declared herself in hunger strike this morning to demand the release of her husband, accused of an alleged complicity in the attempted of assassination to President Rafael Correa, on September 30th.
Orbe told Teleamazonas TV that she would remain with her children and relatives in the General Attorney’s headquarters, located at Av. Eloy Alfaro and Republic (Quito) until her husband is released. Carrion’s wife did not react well after the adjudication hearing, which was supposed to be made yesterday (when Carrión served seven months in detention), was postponed to May 16th because the judge of the case, Luis Enríquez, went on vacations.
Carrion’s wife accused Freire of delaying the process because he has no arguments to accuse her husband.
