Chancellor refers to journalistic note about Rapporteur´s communiqué

El Universo daily published a request for rectification by the deputy foreign minister, Xavier Lasso, regarding the exposure the government makes on the call to dialogue that and and the policemen injured in the protests.
The letter sent by the chancellor requests to publish the following clarifications against the inaccurate information decontextualized in the original version of the referred communiqué.
He explained that the call made by the Rapporteur, in her communiqué, is not about “the violent clashes that have taken place since August 10 as El Universo states; in contrast, it advocates for a `call for calm and dialogue in Ecuador before the violent clashes that have taken place since the August 10,´ it also makes a call “to all parts involved to create an institutional forum for dialogue in which the demands that led to the convening of the national strike ‘ and the respect `of judicial guarantees and due process´ can be analyzed.”
