Chavez Battles Cancer from Cuba to Venezuela
The Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez returned to his country from Cuba last Wednesday night. Chavez arrived at 10:30 (GMT) in the Simon Bolivar international airport after completing his third round of radiotherapy.
At the airport the Venezuelan leader told the members of the press, “I’m well, very well.” However Nelson Bocaranda, the Venezuelan journalist who has been following Chavez health confirmed that the leader has his liver, pancreas, and kidneys as well as some inferior muscles affected. Regarding this information Chavez said, “Here we go, battling, advancing with great faith, and recovering.”
Doctor Jose Rafael Marquina, a Venezuelan specialist in intensive care, informed in an interview that if Chavez does not reacts well to the radiotherapy treatment, “he should be among us until November or December of this year. Even if he responds to the treatment he could live until April of 2013.” (AV)
