Chávez Incited People to Invade Empty Sheds and Warehouses
The president of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, uses his powers, which allow him to legislate by decree until 2012, to call all the homeless Venezuelans to invade the empty sheds and warehouses. “I invite you all people to find sheds … find your shed and tell me where it is … go and search warehouses brother, there are a thousand left in Caracas. Go for them, that Chávez will expropriate it, and it will available to people build decent houses,” he said yesterday.
Dozens of Venezuelans went out to the streets to congregate in front the “abandoned” sites in various sectors of the capital.
The Emergency Law of Housing and Urban Land was also signed yesterday by Chávez, which lets him determine the price of land and construction materials.
All this is being made to locate the 130,000 Venezuelans who were affected by the storm that hit the country in 2010, according to the Mandatary.
