Chela Defeats Aussie Matosevic in the First Round

Juan Ignacio Chela, the Argentinean tennis player is the number 25 of the Wimbledon tournament. Today, Tuesday, he defeated the Australian Marinko Matosevic during the first round of the tournament. The match lasted two hours and 43 minutes.

Chela concluded today’s game with a “tie break” that ended the match with a score of 6-8. The Australian performance had 66 mistakes, while the Argentinean only made 10. Afterwards Chela told EFE, “I practically dominated the whole match except in the third set, which I lost, later I was on top of it during the rest of the game.”

Chela, 31, will face the American Alex Bogomolov in the second stage of the tournament. The victory of the Argentinean player equals his previous results in the All England Club, something that he achieved in the years 2003, 2004, and 2007. (AV)
