Chevron should pay for environmental damage conviction in Ecuadorian Amazon

This morning a Sucumbios court provided that the U.S. oil company, Chevron to pay the sum of $19,000 million to resign equivalent goods free of duties such amount within 24 hours.
This ruling is founded on a conviction for environmental damages in the Ecuadorian Amazon, which must be paid on Monday, as Saturday and Sunday are not working days, Ecuador.
The plaintiffs can manage embargoes if Chevron “does not comply” with the order of justice of Sucumbios, where the complaint was raised by environmental damage caused by Texaco between 1964 and 1990, Chevron acquired firm in 2001.
Chevron appealed the conviction to the Supreme National Court of Justice (CNJ) in Quito, who still has not decided.
“The company believes that the judgment is unenforceable in any court to respect the laws,” the crime a week ago.
