Chevron Will Pay More than 8,000 Million Dollars

The Ecuadorian judge who has a lawsuit due to environmental damages against Chevron ordered the oil firm to pay more than 8,000 million dollars, said Monday the applicant attorney, Pablo Fajardo.

Fajardo said the trial judge, Nicholas Zambrano issued a guilty verdict against Chevron. Chevron said in a statement that “the sentence is illegal and unenforceable. It is product of fraud and breach of scientific evidence. Chevron will appeal this decision in Ecuador and will seek to ensure that justice prevails, it was said in the statement.
