Posted On 16 Sep 2011
The Confederation of Students of Chile (CONFECH), confirmed on Friday the invitation to participate in a new day national strike on Thursday September 22 as part of their three months demands to seek improvements in the educational system.
The vice president of the Student Federation of the University of Chile (Confeuc), Francisco Figueroa, said the government did not accept three of the four guarantees required by defendants and with this action the government virtually rejected the dialogue initiative of young people.
For its part, the Government stated that while the students continue to show themselves “intransigent”, it will be difficult to initiate a dialogue to reach an agreement.
