Christmas tree lit on the Malecon

Screen Shot 2013-11-28 at 14.34.59Yesterday at seven o’clock the authorities of Guayaquil, led by Mayor Jaime Nebot, lit the Christmas tree located in the monument to Bolivar and San Martin, at Malecon Simon Bolivar.

After the words of the mayor, Archbishop Antonio Arregui blessed the Nativity with  full-scale sculpture made ​​with fiberglass.

The evening, attended by hundreds of people, was accompanied by Christmas music by Roberto Bolaños and his band Jazzcero.

The tree was decorated by Gisella Montesdeoca. It consists of 15,000 LED lights and 80 stars. Is 20 meters high and the cup has a giant star, two meters.
