Claro gets a heavy fine
Posted On 09 Mar 2013
Because they charged improper values in a promotion, charged fees other than those agreed and charged values above the established ones, the National Telecommunications Council (Conatel for its Spanish acronym) have imposed a fine of $ 408,000 to the phone company Claro.
According to the sanction, Claro must pay the reported amount to the Superintendency of Telecommunications (Supertel for its Spanish acronym), once that the due process is exhausted, explained Jaime Guerrero, Minister of Telecommunications.
On its behalf, Claro, through a statement, says that “it acts always framed in the law and is concerned to provide the best services to its users,” noting that the sanction has not been notified.
