CNE warns TV station for and alleged support to Bonilla

Imagen 3The National Electoral Council resolved to make a warning to TC Mi Canal and order the station to refrain from performing through their TV spots, any manifestation of support or against towards any candidate for the upcoming February elections.

The decision was taken after the candidate for mayor of Guayaquil, Viviana Bonilla, appeared last Saturday in the transmission of the “Noche Amarilla” which is aired by TC Mi Canal.

Bonilla won’t receive a sanction  after the plenary, with five votes in favor, welcomed the report of the general coordinator of legal advice.

The report reveals that at the moment of appearance of Bonilla at the program, she was wearing a shirt of Barcelona, thus concludes that “attended a sporting event as a fan and not as a candidate for mayor of Guayaquil.”

However, after the journalist Diego Arcos would have made a question of political character and that the channel accessed to open the transmission signal of the event, the report notes that the media would have influenced in favor of Bonilla.
