The new ones are Jaime Ayovi and Joffre Guerrón, two forwards who will try to replace late Christian “Chucho” Benitez, who died in July at the age of 27, in his best sport moment.
The forwards return to the Ecuadorian soccer team and focus for the double date of the Southamerican Cup, and two crucial matches against Colombia on Friday, September 6, and agaist Bolivia on Tuesday, September 10, matches that will define the classification of Ecuador to the world Cup Brazil 2014.
The Tricolor will be supported by Ayoví, attacker from Liga de Quito, and Guerrón, from the Chinese team Beijing Gouan. The national team will first visit Colombia on the fifteenth date of the qualifying rounds and four days later will visit Bolivia in La Paz.
Ecuador ranks third in the South American qualifying scoreboard with 21 points, behind Colombia who has 23 and Argentina with 26.
Coach Reinaldo Rueda summoned 25 players for the two commitments:
Juan Carlos Paredes
Luis Fernando Saritama
