IRS asks gas stations to register their customer’s ID

The request is a “filling requirement” when issuing a bill and the measure was published as “mandatory” in the Official Gazette on last August 19 and is already being carried out in Guayaquil’s gas stations.
The administrator of Petroecuador on the Carlos Julio Arosemena avenue, whose name is being withheld, has already put the policy into operation, however, she noted that one of the problems is that a lot of users are reluctant to give information and prefer plain consumer bills.
Manuel Coca, Petrolrios administrator on the 25 de Julio avenue, said that his twelve employees “are not enough” to dispense fuel and request identification numbers from customers on a proper way.
