Cold Wave in Europe Leaves 360 Fatalities
The cold wave that is currently assailing Europe for the past ten days has caused new victims that increase the death toll to 360 victims to have died by hypothermia.
Poland suffered nine casualties in the last 24-hours, while Ukraine continues to be punished with the cold after leaving frozen 135 victims. While in Italy the cold wave has left 22 dead, according to the authorities the weather would continue for the next 48-hours. The Italian government is worried about the gas supplies because its use has been the highest in the history of the country since last Sunday.
German authorities stated that four people have perished in the last 48-hours due to the cold wave. Sweden revealed that the cold in country reached a new record for this year, with a temperature of -35,1 degrees in the east of the country. (AV)
